One can find a vast number of programs and shows on the television from the different taped television series to the live variety shows, from the several animation series to the several lifestyle shows and from the many news reports to the telecasts of sports events in the various places in the globe. Most people who spend most of their time watching these various shows find satisfaction and entertainment in them for each of the programs they watched may be one of the many interests and hobbies they have like those people who are engaged in sports, one can expect that the channel they mostly turn to would be certain sports channel. Some are interested in various talk shows where they get a vast number of information on whatever is going on around us or some personal issues which one can relate to. People tend to patronize these television shows not only because of the certain discussions being made but even on the different footages being shown. Some may even get amused or overwhelmed with the opinions and statements made not only by the guests but as well as the audience. However, not all of these television shows are actually aired to live in the air unlike those radio talk shows we hear on air. Some people prefer these programs than the ones they see on TV.
Radio talk shows are usually aired on air. These may be similar to the television talk shows we see being aired on TV. Like television talks shows, radio talk shows sometimes invite some people like celebrity personalities, politicians, or people with adequate knowledge on the topics being discussed on air. The participants share their point of views, ideas and reactions and may sometimes argue while the discussions made. One of the reasons why most of these programs are aired live is to allow theirs radio listeners to impart their views, provide feedbacks and even make suggestions by calling on the telephone, via email messaging or SMS messaging. The participation of the audience in the discussion even expands the topic to many other related issues. There are times where some topics are extended up to the next airing time tackling many other issues, especially when a lot of feedbacks are being received from the radio listeners.
Since the way of communication to their patrons is through listening, topics or discussions made in radio talk shows are often related to the current issues many people are facing, politics and some issues under the present administration of a political leader, current news happenings and event and other topics, which can be easily explained without any further visual demonstrations or presentations.
Because radio talk shows are aired live, there are instances where the opinions expressed by participants are not filtered for the usage of foul languages or stating the name of some company, organization, person and other things when accusing. Incidents like these sometimes put the radio program into some controversies and conflict with some people. There are also times that certain discussions form into huge arguments between the participants due to conflicting views and opinions or sometimes, harsh reactions and degrading feedbacks either from any of the participants or the audience who called in order to join the discussion.
Sometimes, even the radio hosts make these mistakes with their effort in elaborating their points of view. They tend to use foul words in order to express how much they felt dismayed or disgusted. These people rely only on the power of their oral communications to get their message across because their listeners can only listen to the words they say and the radio hosts may need to elaborate something further in order to misunderstand on the part of the radio listeners. It cannot also be denied that there are some audience reactions, which are redundant sometimes.
Whether one prefers the television talk show where they can see the guests expressing their thoughts and reactions or the radio talk show, these shows provide information to the public, and it also shows the freedom of every individual to speak out to the public. Even though one is free to speak out one’s reactions and ideas, one has to remember that every opinion one offer may create an impact to a few people listening.
